The article “Estonia-Latvia-Russia Archival Cooperation Project “Cross Border E-Archive”: User Aspect” by Prof. Aadu Must addresses the Estonia-Latvia-Russia project “Cross Border E-archive” that has the aim of bringing the mutually interesting historical information into joint use and thereby creating historical and cultural synergy. Project and its potential follow-up activities are analysed on the background of global and regional developments in archival science, user expectations with regard to archives and possibilities for their inclusion with the goal of contributing to positive developments in the field of archival science.
Professional publication “E-archive Handbook” was developed by Latvian non-governmental organisation “Ideju Forums” to help all users of the virtual archive to understand the structure of the portal, its functionality and content and to give step-by-step instructions on how to use the E-archive platform.
Methodological material for advanced usage of the e-archive platform is made available to the public
Professional publication “Methodological material for usage of e-archive platform. Advanced user” published by Latvian non-governmental organisation „Ideju Forums”, was created for advanced users – mainly only professionals who will participate in developing and editing the content of the e-archive platform. The platform provides that the content creation, editing and updating shall be carried out by experts who have been granted an appropriate level of tolerance and are trained to carry out these activities.
This methodological material is intended only for archive and IT professionals and includes instructions on how to use its features, platforms, as well as the use of administrator level management tool.
Project representatives take part in the Annual Event of the ENPI Estonia-Latvia-Russia cross border cooperation programme on 3-4 June in Pavlovsk and Gatchina
Annual Event of the ENPI Estonia-Latvia-Russia cross border cooperation programme was held on 3-4 June in Pavlovsk and Gatchina, Russia gathering a number of policy makers, representatives of member states, projects, international organisations and other stakeholders. Among them also the project “Cross Border E-archives” that was represented by the lead partner “Culture information systems centre” and two other partners – the National Archives of Latvia and St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise “St. Petersburg Information and Analytical Centre”.
The results of the survey of the project beneficiaries in Estonia, Latvia and Russia have now been published
In February – March 2014 the survey of the project beneficiaries in Estonia, Latvia and Russia was conducted to clarify attitudes of beneficiaries and target groups towards the project and to improve the understanding of the most valuable content for the society in all three countries as well as to evaluate importance of the project and determine the most interesting materials for the society of all three countries. 1’132 respondents were surveyed representing the voice of archives staff, registered users in archives, and students studying archive and records management.
